The information below is about our past "Dive for a Cause" events including Dive for a Cure 

Thank-you for Making a Difference ! 

Over the past 3 years - Friends, family and divers came together to make a difference in their community and raised over $10,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society !!

Dive Source has expanded it's community involvement and support in many ways over the years.

This includes many worthy causes such as local charities, dive clubs, team sponsorships and shore cleanups. Dive Source is also actively involved in promoting public education about diving, dive safety, the environment and other issues.

We refer to many of these events as  "Dive for a Cause"

Dive for a Cause - Discover scuba diving - Event Description:

The Dive Source team arrives early to set up the all equipment needed for the event as well as get  ready for the nearly 100 people who made their contribution to try scuba diving that night.

Participants arrive and are greeted by event volunteers who check them in and give them their "Boarding Pass" . This allows them to move through the different stations of the event, starting in the classroom for a brief orientation.

In the classroom they settle in for a  presentation by a Dive Source scuba instructor who explains the basics of scuba diving and how they are going to discover the wonder of breathing underwater and the joy of "innerspace".

After the classroom session they move downstairs to get changed and check into the pool desk where they are given a quick briefing and then brought to the pool instructors who will be taking them on their underwater adventure.

After some hands on training,  they descend below and have their first taste of breathing underwater!  As they get their new skills mastered each group continued on with their instructors to tour the pool as well as play special underwater games and puzzles brought in for the event.

Eventually time is up and the next group hs arrived  and is eagerly awaiting their chance, so it's time to move back the regular world above the water.

Smiles abound as each person get dressed and on their way and there is laughter and talk about how wonderfull the experiance was, as well as joy in how people from many places come together to raise money for a cause that affects us all.

The Dive Source Team is honoured to be involved in this special event which was the first of it's kind to combine the discover scuba diving experiance with raising money for local charity.

Special thanks to all the volunteers and training staff of Dive Source Scuba who help  to make this event such a tremendous success each year.
